Weston has long been the hometown of the Holladay Distillery, home of McCormick Distilling Company. In 1856, Ben Holladay and his brother, Major David Holladay, divined a great purpose for the limestone spring onsite: Bourbon, making the Holladay Distillery the oldest distillery west of the Mississippi operating at its original site. In 2016, the distillery commemoratd 160 years of rich history by going back to its roots and once again bearing the proud name of Holladay Distillery, operated by McCormick Distilling Company. For the first time since 1985, the distillery is again distilling bourbon on site, and opened its doors to the public for tours for the first time since 1995.

The reception has been so positive that it was a natural decision to extend the feel of Holladay into downtown Weston and to turn McCormick on Main, formerly known as the McCormick Country Store, into an additional place to gather. After undergoing a complete restoration, the store now features exposed brick walls, an authentic tin ceiling, and a beautiful bar crafted from reclaimed wood and barrel staves. There are additional seating areas and televisions, making this this perfect spot to relax with a cocktail when visiting Weston.

As always, the store is also a place for customers to buy souvenirs and to sample and purchase products including our premium brands 360 Vodka, Broker’s Gin, Tequila Rose, Hussong’s Tequila, Triple Crown, KeKe, and Tarantula, as well as the McCormick family brands.

Come visit McCormick on Main to find out more about our products. McCormick on Main is open seven days a week and cocktails are available for purchase daily. Spirits cannot be shipped but we are happy to ship any logo items in the store.

Vox Vineyards

By Appointment Only

Some of the most widely recognized wine varietals include names like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet. All of these grapes are native to Europe, but did you know that North America actually has the widest diversity of indigenous grapes? At Vox Vineyards we are tapping the potential of native North American grapes to produce spectacular wines that express and celebrate our unique region.

We are following in the footsteps of Thomas Volney Munson, the viticulturist famed for saving Europe's grape vines from the Phylloxera epidemic. Munson was also an avid breeder of native grapes and our vines are some of the many wild varieties that Munson identified and cultivated in the late 1800's. Our vineyard located in the rolling Missouri River bluffs just south of Weston, MO is home to over forty of these unique grape varieties native to North America.

Join us in our discovery of these unique grapes and wines. Explore the possibilities of wines like Albania, Wetumpka, Lenoir, or Hidalgo. We currently do not have regular tasting hours. If you are interested in coming out to the vineyard, please check out our website, www.voxvineyards.com, for announcements regarding tours, tastings, and events.

Reopened in December of 2005 by long-time friends and avid brewers, Michael Coakley and Corey Weinfurt, the Weston Brewing Company boasts a modern 24-barrel brewing system capable of producing 20,000 kegs of beer annually.

Their flagship beer, O’Malley’s Irish Cream Ale, carries on the tradition of brewing in historic Weston that began 164 years ago.
The Weston Brewing Company was first established in 1842 by German immigrant, John Georgian, and was one of the first lager beer breweries in the U.S.  Five arched, limestone cellars, dug to a depth of 55 feet below ground, were constructed to create the ideal conditions for Georgian’s lager beer which needed to be stored below 60 degrees for more than six weeks.  The brewery’s 20 employees produced 12,000 barrels of Pale Lager annually.

Upon Georgian’s death in 1857 the brewery continued in various states of ownership and production until 1901 when a new corporation was formed called the Royal Brewing Company of Kansas City.  A branch office was established at 1111-1114 Grand Avenue in Kansas City, Mo.  Promoted as the “oldest brewery west of the Hudson River”, the brewery was the largest manufacturing plant in Platte County, producing 20,000 barrels a year.  Popular brands included Royal Pilsner, advertised as "the beer that made Milwaukee jealous"; Rip Van Winkle, "the world’s richest bottle of beer"; and Vivatone, “a family beverage for all ailments”.

The brewery closed in 1919, when prohibition, otherwise known as "the great experiment," was signed into law.
