McCormick is the oldest distillery in the United States operating at it original site. In 1976, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. Lewis and Clark discovered natural limestone springs in the rolling hills of Missouri. By 1830 these pure springs were supplying water to wagon trains heading west. Years later Ben Holladay saw these limestone springs as the ingredient for great whiskey needed to supply the vast number of wagon trains passing through Weston desiring good whiskey. In 1856 he started his distillery. The tours at the distillery were discontinued in 1995.

The McCormick Country Store was relocated to Main Street and sells all McCormick products and gift items; a .25 cent sample bar for customers over 21 years of age. "Many logo gift items are available. Custom gifts are made to order."

McCormick introduces a Vodka with a “Green” state of mind.
Our new 360 Vodka is crafted from a philosophy of eco-awareness. Every bottle is quadruple distilled and five times filtered through a highly energy efficient process, with every bushel of grain being fully used and nothing going to waste. The packaging is designed for reusability, the bottled consisting of 85% recycled glass and the labeling is 100% recycled paper.

Spirits cannot be shipped but we are happy to ship any logo items in the store.

Come visit McCormick Country store to find out more about this new vodka and its technology that will not deplete our planet of all its resources.

Some of the most widely recognized wine varietals include names like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet. All of these grapes are native to Europe, but did you know that North America actually has the widest diversity of indigenous grapes? At Vox Vineyards we are tapping the potential of native North American grapes to produce spectacular wines that express and celebrate our unique region.

We are following in the footsteps of Thomas Volney Munson, the viticulturist famed for saving Europe's grape vines from the Phylloxera epidemic. Munson was also an avid breeder of native grapes and our vines are some of the many wild varieties that Munson identified and cultivated in the late 1800's. Our vineyard located in the rolling Missouri River bluffs just south of Weston, MO is home to over forty of these unique grape varieties native to North America.

Join us in our discovery of these unique grapes and wines. Explore the possibilities of wines like Albania, Wetumpka, Lenoir, or Hidalgo. We currently do not have regular tasting hours. If you are interested in coming out to the vineyard, please check out our website, www.voxvineyards.com, for announcements regarding tours, tastings, and events.

Reopened in December of 2005 by long-time friends and avid brewers, Michael Coakley and Corey Weinfurt, the Weston Brewing Company boasts a modern 24-barrel brewing system capable of producing 20,000 kegs of beer annually.

Their flagship beer, O’Malley’s Irish Cream Ale, carries on the tradition of brewing in historic Weston that began 164 years ago.
The Weston Brewing Company was first established in 1842 by German immigrant, John Georgian, and was one of the first lager beer breweries in the U.S.  Five arched, limestone cellars, dug to a depth of 55 feet below ground, were constructed to create the ideal conditions for Georgian’s lager beer which needed to be stored below 60 degrees for more than six weeks.  The brewery’s 20 employees produced 12,000 barrels of Pale Lager annually.

Upon Georgian’s death in 1857 the brewery continued in various states of ownership and production until 1901 when a new corporation was formed called the Royal Brewing Company of Kansas City.  A branch office was established at 1111-1114 Grand Avenue in Kansas City, Mo.  Promoted as the “oldest brewery west of the Hudson River”, the brewery was the largest manufacturing plant in Platte County, producing 20,000 barrels a year.  Popular brands included Royal Pilsner, advertised as "the beer that made Milwaukee jealous"; Rip Van Winkle, "the world’s richest bottle of beer"; and Vivatone, “a family beverage for all ailments”.

The brewery closed in 1919, when prohibition, otherwise known as "the great experiment," was signed into law.
