McCormick Distilling Company is the oldest distillery in the United States operating at it original site. In 1976, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. Lewis and Clark discovered natural limestone springs in the rolling hills of Missouri. By 1830 these pure springs were supplying water to wagon trains heading west. Years later Ben Holladay saw these limestone springs as the ingredient for great whiskey needed to supply the vast number of wagon trains passing through Weston desiring good whiskey. In 1856 he started his distillery.
The tours at the distillery were discontinued in 1995. The McCormick Country Store was relocated to Main Street and sells a complete line of McCormick products plus logo items, premium cigars; a .25 sample bar for customers over 21 years of age.
McCormick introduces a Vodka with a “Green” state of mind.
Our new 360 Vodka is crafted from a philosophy of eco-awareness. Every bottle is quadruple distilled and five times filtered through a highly energy efficient process, with every bushel of grain being fully used and nothing going to waste. Pacific Breeze carries unique clothing and jewelry designed by Elsa, the owner of the shop, and her sister Echo. They go to India and Thailand, where have their line of products made. Items include carefully selected bags, shoes, scarves and other accessories for customers who are looking for something special.
Elsa’s clothing line features hand-block prints. Designs are carved on teak wood blocks that are then used to hand stamp on the fabric. Batik work is another art form that Elsa and her sister love to use. Pacific Breeze offers beautiful hand embroidered fine linen blouses that are machine washable as well.
All of the jewelry sold in the shop is made of sterling silver and semi-precious stones. Elsa loves to spend her spare time in her little home studio creating original jewelry pieces. Her inspiration comes from nature. Butter flies fly in the garden, shooting stars cross the sky, and sea shells cover the beach.
If you like neat and beautiful stuff, be sure to stop by Pacific Breeze.
