The Benner House surrounds you with comfort and gracious ambiance to provide our guests with the very finest bed & breakfast experience. The spirit of romance is still alive in this exceptional Queen Anne architecture built in 1898 by George Shawhan, who owned, what we know today as the McCormick Distillery. The home was purchased in the early 1900's by Charles Benner. It remained in his family until it was converted to a Bed & Breakfast in 1986.

The beauty and elegance have been restored in every room including the original hand carved oak and beveled glass entrance. The Benner House is graced with open, wraparound porches on both stories, a serene perennial & water garden, a brand new private Hydrotherapy hot-tub with a bi-level deck, a terraced back yard with a wooded backdrop and stone path leading down to the in-ground, heated pool and deck.

In 1845, a gentleman named Benjamin Wood bought some land from the town of Weston and built a beautiful two story, federal styled home. Through the years, the house changed owners several times - one was David Holladay, who lived in the home until the late 1800's. It is believed that he lived at the house and ran the distillery that he and his brother founded, while his brother, Ben, ventured west and gained fame from the Overland Stagecoach Company.

In the 1930's, the Wood's home was converted into a boarding house. Quite often, due to the inexpensive rent, newlyweds occupied the apartments. As time passed, many of these young couples conceived and had their children while living here. Consequently the townspeople coined the phrase "The Hatchery" for the "hatching" of the babies.

The present day innkeepers, Bill and Anne Lane, have named each room after someone, who has had a significant part, present or past, in this marvelous antebellum home. They have filled each room with antiques and remodeled each guest room to be inviting, relaxing and tranquil. You can enjoy fireplaces, in room Jacuzzi bathtubs, special blend coffee, local wine and candy, scents from the candle shop and homemade soaps. There is a new Jacuzzi spa outside under the southern antebellum porch in back with quaint seating all around the house inside and out. You are invited to come experience the romance, warmth and tranquility of both "The Hatchery House, LLC" and Weston, Missouri.

Walk back through the pages of history when you cross the threshold of the Inn at Weston Landing. The Inn was part of the 1842 Weston Royal Brewing Company, the "oldest brewery west of the Hudson River."

Because many of Weston's early leaders were born in Europe, each of the four spacious suite-sized rooms with private baths, tells the story of an Old World Celtic family and the circumstances in their lives at the time the brewery was built. Whether relaxing in the hot tub, enjoying the enchanting garden, playing games in the parlor, or meeting new friends, you'll find much to write home about when you stay at the Inn at Weston Landing. Hosts Cyndee and Mike Bohaty are eager to serve you and look forward to making your stay memorable. And the delicious breakfast served in the adjoining antique shop is just one of many fine memories.

Located across from O'Malley's Irish Pub and a short walk to the many nearby shops and restaurants in Weston's historic shopping district. Just 30 minutes from downtown Kansas City, this delightful Inn features Old World charm, modern conveniences, and warm personal service.

The Inn at Weston Landing receives guests seven days a week by reservation. Rates: $90-$115 per night. Major credit cards accepted, gift certificate available. Sorry, no pets. Smoking outside only.
