Classic Jukes, found for example at rural crossroads, catered to the rural work force that began to emerge after emancipation. Plantation workers and sharecroppers needed a place to relax and socialize following a hard week, particularly since they were barred from most white establishments by Jim Crow laws.

The Angela Hagenbach Quintet will provide live jazz and Fernando Faneite will perform a memorable floor show. Late 1800s to early 1900s era dress is optional.
Dinner will be served with your choice of Savory Brisket or Herbed Chicken, both served with Potatoes Au Gratin and Salad Verde. Apple Pie will provide a sweet finish to the meal. A cash bar will be available for all.
